The Royal Hotel building was built in the 1790’s on the site of an old Inn to accommodate travelling horses and their riders. This famous landmark has been used over the years to aid the community as a meeting place in Penicuik. This is a purpose that we still hold true today.

Based in Penicuik, near Edinburgh, Massaro’s Restaurant serves quality Italian food and we also serve old time favourites. Click on our Restaurant page to view our menus.We also welcome children into the restaurant.

The restaurant is open during the following hours:

Monday to Saturday: 10am to 12pm for breakfast
Sunday we are open: 12pm to 7pm
Last food orders taken at 7pm

Lunch served 7 Days a week from 12pm to 2.30pm
Evening Meals are served Thursday, Friday Saturday 5pm till Late

On Fridays and Saturdays we are open all day and serve the lunch menu until 4pm.

There is free parking nearby and we have free Wi-Fi in the restaurant and bar, next door to the restaurant is the Royal Hotel Bar where we serve a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. A wide variety of entertainment is provided on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; including discos, karaoke nights, and live music. Our sports bar is equipped with Sky Sports and we show all the premiership games.
